So about a week before our trip (yes it's out of order, playing catch up makes it a little more difficult!) all three of our kids were sick. It just started out as a nasty cold so we weren't too worried. It was a Monday and we had to run into Vegas to pick up my new bedroom furniture (yes, I got new bedroom furniture.. I love it!) and Davis and Kissy were starting get get a super nasty cough so we thought that while we were already in Vegas we would make an appointment for them to see the Pediatrician that we used to go to since Davis was born. So I called and got them in, but the doctor that we usually see was out of town so they made us one with her fill in. This lady was a total IDIOT!! She acted like we were stupid and basically just wrote a prescription for antibiotics and sent us on our way.
On Tuesday we decided that since our kids have had strep quite a few times that we would call the ear, nose throat guy in Mesquite and have him check them out. He is an awesome doctor and checked them out and they didn't have strep and said not to give them antibiotics unless they aren't better in 2 days. So we headed home feeling a little better now that we actually saw a doctor who seemed to know what he was talking about!
Then on Wednesday we had to run into Vegas again to home depot and right as we got off the freeway on Craig road Davis threw up everywhere. We thought that it was just maybe because he has a really sensitive stomach and eating too much sugar or being too hungry will sometimes make him puke. So we went into Home Depot and he was just acting kinda tired but seemed ok. But then we went to eat at Applebees and he fell asleep in my lap and that's when I noticed that he was a little warm. He slept for about 20 minutes then woke up and wanted to eat Mac N Cheese. We figured that since he wanted to eat he was feeling a little better.
So we got home and he was just super lethargic and even warmer. We gave him some Motrin and Tylenol and he fell asleep for a few hours. When he woke up he acted a little better and we thought it was a good sign, but then he puked again and just wanted to lay there. We put him on a bed and let him watch cartoons hoping that the medicine would help break he fever. When it was time for bed he was still kinda acting weird and Chris picked him up to put him in bed and said that he was VERY hot. So we got out the thermometer and his temperature was 104. That's when we decided it was time to take him to the ER.
When we got there he was still very lethargic and throwing up. They ran all sorts of tests on him and the chest xray showed that he had pneumonia. They got him on a IV and gave him more Motrin and Tylenol and he finally broke his fever. So he was admitted so they could give him stronger antibiotics thru the IV and was there until Friday afternoon. We watched A LOT of cartoons and had some great conversations to pass the time!
It was so hard to see by baby SOOO sick and feel so helpless. I just can't imagine how some parents deal with cancer, or really any complication with their children. Mine stub their toe and I just want to take all their pains away!
But... he is healthy now and I am so grateful for that!
Right after he got his IV... I was seriously fighting the tears when they put it in!
Allie got to come visit and spend the day with Davis. She didn't like seeing him the the IV in his arm!
Kissy was so fascinated with the car he wouldn't look at me for a picture!
Back to work for Daddy!
Kissy searched for the prefect egg then sat down and ate the candy inside!
