Poor baby!

On Tuesday October 20th Christopher was taking a nap and when he got up we noticed that he had thrown up. So we cleaned him and his bedding and didn't think anything of it because he acted fine the rest of the night. Then the next morning he threw up a couple more times and had diarrhea. We fed him bananas, pedialite and gave him some ibuprofen. That stopped him from throwing up, but the diarrhea continued. He wouldn't eat anything or even drink anything other than milk and that just made it worse, but it kept him peeing! Then on Thursday night he wouldn't even drink his milk so we started to get worried about him becoming dehydrated. I decided that I would call the doctor first thing on Friday morning. I was just getting ready to call when my mom called me and said that she was talking to an EMT and the EMT said to just go straight to the ER because he had all the signs of being dehydrated. So we hurried out the door and headed to Mesquite. He was definitely dehydrated so they got an IV going (which I think I cried just as much as him when they put it in!) and took about 1 1/2 hours and a lot of fluid to get him to pee.

A few days earlier we had also noticed that when we would stand him up, he wouldn't put any weight on his right foot. So I just decided to bring it up to the doctor. I was wondering if maybe he had an infection that maybe settled in his hip (that happened to my niece Matty). So they took his blood and the doctor kinda played with his legs while he was laying down and his hips didn't really seem to bother him. After the blood results came back it was negative for infection so they decided to do an x-ray. After doing an x-ray on his hips and whole right leg they found that he has a fracture in his right foot! Crazy!! How does an 8 month old baby that can't even walk get a fracture?! After being questioned as to whether we abuse him, we came to the conclusion that he probably got a fracture from one of the kids falling on his foot. He loves to play with the big kids and that's really the only thing that makes sense!

Now his diarrhea has stopped and he has his apatite back! His foot bothers him every so often but doesn't seem too bad. Oh and they didn't have to put on a cast or anything because he doesn't walk so it will just heal itself!

We are just SSOO glad that he's feeling better and no one else caught it!

5 years!!!

On October 16th we hit our 5 years of marriage mark! That day we were actually driving up to Utah so we didn't get to celebrate til the next day. Grandma was nice enough to babysit while we went to a movie and had dinner!

I don't think I've ever posted about how we met so here it is!! My sister's husband was good friends with Chris at work and I had heard a few things about him here and there but never thought anything about it really. Then I graduated from high school and moved to Vegas. Me and my awesome roomies had tried one singles ward, but we didn't really care for it so we decided to go to the University Ward that my Uncle was in the bishopric of (turns out Chris was the Elders Quorum President at the same ward), but before we had been to church there, my sister blessed her baby out in Overton. I of course went and Nathan (sisters hubs) had invited Chris out. That was the first time I saw him and I totally fell in love with him then, well I guess it was just his looks because we didn't talk or anything!! Anyway... on my way back into Vegas after the blessing Amy Bowler Marshall was riding with me and I'm pretty sure she was about to strangle me because I couldn't stop talking about him!!

So... I really wanted to actually meet him so I called up my Aunt Tresa that night and asked her what the ward was doing for FHE the next night. She gave me the details and my roomies and I got all dolled up and headed to FHE. I totally remember the crazy butterflies I got when Chris came into the room!! Ha.. so the activity that night was some card game, so I went up to him and introduced myself as Nathan's sister-in-law and we immediately hit it off!! Anyway... I think it was about 1 month later we got engaged and were married in the Las Vegas Temple on October 16th 2004!! I know there are people that don't believe in "love at first sight", but that was truly the case with us. We just knew it was right basically from the beginning!!

I love him more than words can describe and he is truly my best friend!!

24th bday!

On September 30th I had my 24th birthday! Funny thing is I have already quit counting and I always have to ask Chris how old I am! Anyway.. it was a good day. Chris got me breakfast and made me my favorite sandwich for lunch! Then we had dinner at my mom's with my sisters. The kids were super excited to decorate my cake and I think it turned out pretty cute!
